This blog shares the film’s remarkable box-office journey and ROI, the people behind its making, the last-minute change in the lead cast, and the powerful story that has connected with audiences.
Hanuman Ansh Shakes Box Office: ₹10 Lakh to ₹300 Crore
The film didn’t have any big-name actors, but the cast’s outstanding performances made it worth watching and the biggest reason for Hanuman-Ansh’s box-office collection.
On its opening day, the film earned just ₹10 lakh. During its first 2 weeks, its total collection stood at only ₹1.48 crore. Then, suddenly, the film saw a sharp rise.
On Day 17 alone, it earned nearly ₹2.20 crore. By day 24, the film had earned around ₹40 crore in India. It then crossed the ₹50 crore mark as well.
By nearly 40 days, the film had crossed around ₹300.25 crore worldwide. Of this, around ₹280 crore came from India, while overseas collections stood at approximately ₹20.25 crore.
According to Sacnilk, the film, based on Neem Karoli Baba, earned around ₹6 crore on its 41st day. But now, strikingly, it has crossed ₹300 crore, nearly 150x its original budget.
Three Women Lead the Film’s Production
Hanuman Ansh is a low-budget film, completed on a budget of about ₹1.8 crore to ₹2 crore, with each woman contributing roughly around 60 lakh. Interestingly, they came from different generations.
Ragini Sona, from an older generation, was the first film producer to agree to invest in the project. She met Neem Karoli Baba with her father when she was very young. Because of that, Ragini has a deeper personal connection with Neem Karoli Baba.
Similarly,
Namrata G. Singh, another producer from a different generation, also put her money on the line. She never imagined that the project would work out on such a large scale. She is also a strong devotee of Neem Karoli Baba.
The film was initially shot with the support of these 2 women, but after the shooting, they ran out of money for post-production, which made it difficult to push the project forward. That was when another producer came into the picture.
Anupriya Nagar, the youngest among the 3 producers, was only 21 years old at the time. Anupriya herself revealed that she paid only one-third of the film’s total cost. Although many people consider her the main producer. She is an economics graduate from the University of Bath in the UK. She used her personal savings, earned through a part-time job in the UK, to fund the film’s production, showing her devotion to Baba.
Because of these 3 Women, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the most profitable Indian films, with an ROI of around 15,000%.
Last-Minute Change in The Hanuman Ansh's Film Cast
The film’s main writer, director, and creator is Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi. Just a day before the shoot, the film’s initial lead actor, Mohit Raina, became extremely unwell. After vomiting nearly 40 times, he informed the team that he felt his Hepatitis B had relapsed.
At the last moment, the role went to
Shobhinaw Satyaa, who was working as a second assistant director. Vishal noticed that a young photograph of Neem Karoli Baba closely matched his face and decided to cast him in the lead role.
Shobhinaw’s innocence and gentleness suited the role. He says he is a devoted follower of Neem Karoli Baba and believes he got the role through Baba’s blessing.
Powerful Storyline of Hanuman Ansh: A Journey of Faith & Devotion
Hanuman Ansh is a 2026 biographical spiritual film, based on the life and legacy of the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj ji. At 13, after his mother’s death, he left his hometown in the Braj region, believing only Lord Rama could bring his mother back. His search for Rama led him to Hanuman Ji, inspiring his spiritual journey across Northern India.
He lived by begging, meditating in nature, and learning from ascetics, Nath Yogis, and Naga Sadhus. His transformation deepened when he reached Nib Karori Village. In his late 20s, he settled there and became known for his meditation. Locals eventually built him a cave ashram, where he spent long hours meditating.
The film also portrays a famous train incident in his life, where he was forced to get off the train because he didn’t have a ticket. After getting down, he sat under a tree in a nearby field and began singing Kirtan. For nearly 2 hours, the train’s engine reportedly failed, and the train couldn’t move. This was the British era; the English officer who forced him off the train was traveling in the same compartment. He eventually went to Baba, begged him to return to the train, and as soon as he got back on, it started moving mysteriously.
The movie ties these remarkable events together in a way you can’t fully understand by reading or hearing about them. To truly experience them, watch the movie at least once.
The Bottom Line
Devotional films like Kantara, Narasimha, and Hanuman Ansh bring devotion back into people’s lives. These films connect us with a unique spiritual energy and a divine power that guides us in our daily lives and makes us more productive. Through devotion, these movies restore the stability people are losing amid the uncertainty of modern life.
Bollywood and other local platforms should produce and embrace more devotional films like these, and allocate more screens to them, so people can reconnect with the devotion they may have lost and truly understand the meaning of life.
